“Micro ventilation” is also called “gap ventilation” or “economy ventilation”. This refers to the ventilation of rooms through a tiny gap between the window and the frame. This allows a constant, but minimal air exchange take place – the opposite, so to speak, of shock ventilation. Some window manufacturers even offer such a mode with special burglary protection, so that you can ventilate without worry even when you are away.
In order to use this type of ventilation, the window handle is used in many models to a 45 degree position brought. Then you can carefully pull the window towards you. Then only a gap a few millimeters wide remains open.
But be careful: Not every window is designed for this! It can happen that the window is then only hung at one point in the frame – namely the lower one, which is opposite the window handle. There is a risk of damaging the mechanics, especially with large windows. Therefore, you should make sure beforehand that your windows are suitable for this.
