Your presentation is scheduled for the 4th of Octoberand thanks to a new leak we have all the details about the price of the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in Europe. Both terminals will position within what we can consider as high-end, and will maintain the commitment that Google has been making for AI-based computational photography.
As expected, the “cheapest” of the two will be the Google Pixel 8, in quotes because its price will not be exactly cheap, although it will cost less than the Pro model. According to the sourcethis terminal will have a price of €874.25, taxes included, in its version with 128 GB of storage capacity. The version with 256 GB will cost €949.30, also with taxes included. Keep in mind that 23% VAT has been applied in both cases, and that in Spain VAT is 21%, so these figures would be slightly lower.
The price of the Google Pixel 8 Pro will be €1,235 in its version with 128 GB of storage capacity and €1,309 in its version with 256 GB capacity. Again in both cases a 23% VAT has been applied, so in Spain it should cost a little less for what I have explained to you in the previous paragraph.
If these prices are confirmed, the increase compared to the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro would be considerable, since both reached the Spanish market with a launch price of 649 euros and 899 euros, respectively. The difference would be 225.25 euros in the case of the Pixel 8 and 336 euros in the case of the Pixel 8 Pro.
The truth is that these price differences seem too big to me, and this makes me doubt the veracity of this leak. However, the price of the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro that we have seen in this information is within the level in which giants like Samsung and Apple competeso it is possible that Google wanted to enter directly into that league with both terminals, and therefore there is no choice but to prepare for that huge price increase that could be coming.
Both terminals will use a Tensor G3 SoCa custom chip manufactured by Samsung that could use the 4 nm node of the South Korean giant, and which, as we told you at the time, would be configured with a 9 core CPU divided into a Cortex-X3 core at 3.09 GHz, another with four high-performance cores based on Cortex-A715 architecture at 2.65 GHz and another block with four high-efficiency cores based on Cortex-A510 architecture at 2 .1 GHz. Its GPU would be an Xclipse 900 series, and it would be based on the RDNA 2 architecture or in RDNA 3.
