Google announces that it has once again taken care of the functionality of Android Auto. WebEx by Cisco and Zoom on Android Auto with audio-only functionality will now be available. So you can not only take calls on the go, but also take part in a meeting that is already in progress on the way to work. It is certainly welcome that this is a pure audio solution. None of my colleagues have to see me in the video stream if I oversleep and walk into a meeting on the way to the office.
Selected Renault, Polestar and Volvo vehicles now also have the option to: Prime Video to use on Google Play. Other brands are to follow. There is also the Chromium-based Vivaldi browser, which is now also available in the car via Google Play. In the future, the weather service “The Weather Channel” will also be able to be used in the vehicle display to access hourly forecasts, follow-me warnings and Trip View radar. Support for the digital car key, which allows you to unlock, lock and start the car with your phone, is also being expanded. The digital key can be shared with family or friends on both Android and iOS.
Digital Car Key support is already available in several European countries and is now rolling out to select Hyundai, Genesis and Kia models in the US, Canada and Korea, for drivers with compatible Pixel and Samsung devices such as the Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung S23+.
