Palworld, the first surprise gaming hit of 2024, is coming to smartphones. The developer Pocketpair, who was only sued by Nintendo in September due to its similarity to Pokémon, announced this through its partner: PUBG developer Krafton was brought on board for the development.
Palworld reimagined for mobile
Specifically, the work will be carried out in Krafton’s “PUBG Studios”, which in the past has not only developed PUBG, but also the smartphone offshoot PUBG Mobile.
The aim is to reinterpret Palworld for the mobile platform and to retain what makes Palworld fun.
It plans to faithfully reinterpret and implement the main fun elements of the original for the mobile environment.
Palworld was first released for Windows PC (Steam) and Xbox in January. The title then stormed the Steam charts within days and has sold 15 million copies this way alone. To date, 10 million users have been reached on the Xbox Series X, Series S and One – the game is also available there in Game Pass.
Palworld has also been available on the PlayStation 5 since September 25th. The release was worldwide with the exception of Japan, the home country of developer Pocketpair and Nintendo.
No release date yet
There is not yet a release date for the release of the mobile version, and Pocketpair and Krafton have not yet announced whether Android and iOS will be considered immediately at launch.
