Seiko Watch will release 11 limited edition models on October 7th that pay homage to the design of the first domestically produced wristwatch, the Laurel. Prices range from 36,300 yen to 220,000 yen.
The limited edition model features a design that pays homage to the first domestically produced wristwatch, the Laurel, released in 1913 to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Seiko’s wristwatches. It incorporates design elements such as Laurel’s signature white dial, red accents on the 12 index, blue hands, and a brown leather strap.
In addition to Seiko Presage, the lineup includes 11 models from six brands: Prospex, Astron, 5 Sports, Rukia, and Selection.
Presage
Seiko Presage has a lineup of three models. In addition to the “Craftsmanship Series SARW071,” which uses the same enamel dial as the original first-generation Laurel, there is also the “Sharp Edged Series SARX113,” which has a dial with a hemp leaf pattern and white gradation color, and a vintage-style GMT model with a Laurel design. Two models will be released from the quartz-type Astron. “Nexter Series GPS Solar Model SBXD019” is equipped with a GPS solar movement on a polygonal titanium bezel. It features a white silver dial, red accent at 12 o’clock, and a brown leather strap. The price is 220,000 yen, and the quantity is limited to 800 worldwide, of which 300 are domestic.
“Nexter Series Solar Radio Model SBXY069” is a solar radio model with a titanium bezel. Sized to fit comfortably on the wrist, it features a white dial, red accents above the Arabic numeral at 12 o’clock, and a brown leather strap. The price is 132,000 yen. Quantity is limited to 300 pieces in Japan.
5 sports
“Field Sports Style SBSA241” will be added to Seiko 5 Sports. The 24-hour notation on the dial is red, and a brown leather strap for replacement is included. It is a mechanical wristwatch and the price is 56,100 yen. Quantity is limited to 6,000 pieces worldwide, including 300 pieces in Japan.
Rukia
“LUKIA Grow SSVW223” is now available from Seiko LUKIA. The white dial has a delicate pattern inspired by flower petals, and the index at 12 o’clock is accented with red. It is a solar radio-controlled wristwatch, and the price is 79,200 yen. Quantity is limited to 300 pieces in Japan.

Seiko Selection offers a lineup of two models in different sizes that simply incorporate the design of the first-generation Laurel.
Based on a white dial, it features Arabic numeral indexes inspired by the first-generation Laurel. “12” is in red. The letters are expressed three-dimensionally with overlay printing. “SBPX149” has a case diameter of 38.7mm, and “STPX099” has a case diameter of 27.8mm. Both are solar-powered quartz watches priced at 36,300 yen.
