It was one of the surprises of the keynote recent: in the middle of the announcement of the iPhone 15, new iCloud+ storage plans were revealed for all those for whom the maximum 2 TB we had until now was not enough. Starting next week we will be able hire plans with 6 or even 12 TB of space.
Barbarity? Can. But there are iCloud accounts shared with the family that may be able to fill all those TBs effortlessly. We’ll see How is the price of those plans? joining them in a list with those we already know.
You won’t run out of so much space… if you pay what it costs
Even with this change, there is one thing that remains the same: free iCloud space is still 5 GB. It is an increasingly tight space, with which there is normally no possibility of saving either the iPhone backup or the photos in the cloud. To expand it, we have the following prices:
- iCloud+ with 50 GB: 0.99 euros per month
- iCloud+ with 200 GB: 2.99 euros per month
- iCloud+ with 2 TB: 9.99 euros per month
- iCloud+ with 6 TB: 29.99 euros per month
- iCloud with 12 TB: 59.99 euros per month
The prices in euros of the two new plans are not yet confirmed, but they will probably be these since in the case of iCloud Apple maintains euro-dollar parity.
Apple indicates that these storages are focused on “Users with large photo or video libraries, or those who use En Familia”. The option to hire them should be available starting next Monday, although I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a few more days to spread to all users in the world.
