What is NVIDIA GeForce Now?
GeForce Now is a cloud gaming service offered by NVIDIAthe well-known manufacturer of gaming graphics cards, which allows you to play your favorite games anywhere and in any situation, since You only need an Internet connection of at least 5 Mb/s for a resolution of 720p at 60 FPS and 25 Mb/s for a resolution of 1080p at 60 FPS and a compatible gamepad.
In this sense, you should know that NVIDIA GeForce Now is available on a wide variety of devices including desktop or laptop computers with WindowsMacOS or Chrome OSsmartphones with Android and iOS, any smart TV with Android TV or Google TV and other devices such as the NVIDIA Shield or the Chromecast with Google TV.
Additionally, GeForce Now supports a wide range of game controllers, including the NVIDIA Shield, those of Xbox, the DualShock 4 of the PlayStation 4 and the Dual Sense of the PS5 and gamepads from brands such as Logitech, Razer, Steelseries, Backbone or MOGA.
How does GeForce Now work?
Unlike Xbox Game Pass, which offers you a wide catalog of games that you can play both locally and in the cloud, GeForce Now is a service that provides you with a platform from which you can play all the video games that you already have purchased through digital stores such as Steam, Epic Games Store or Ubisoft on any device with Internet access, as it only works through the NVIDIA cloud.
This does not mean that GeForce Now does not include free games within its platform, since, in addition to a portfolio of more than 1,800 games that you have available if you own themthe NVIDIA platform offers you more than 100 games completely free.
How you can try NVIDIA GeForce Now for free
Another of the big differences between GeForce Now compared to Xbox Game Pass is that the NVIDIA platform has a completely free modality that, logically, has a series of limitations when using this cloud gaming service. Thus, the free version of GeForce Now offers you a basic platform, includes adsgives you standard access to NVIDIA gaming servers and only allows you to perform hour-long gaming sessions.
Of course, you should know that, with this free subscription you do not have a limit of game sessions per day, so you will be able to play all the games of less than an hour that you want daily.
What paid subscription options are available in GeForce Now?
In addition to this free plan, GeForce Now offers you a couple of paid subscription types that allow you to fully enjoy the full potential of the NVIDIA cloud gaming platform:
- Priority Subscription: gives you access to NVIDIA’s Premium platform with RTX ON graphics, has no advertisinggives you priority access to premium servers, allows you to have gaming sessions of up to 6 hours long and play games with 1080p resolution and up to 60 FPS.
- Ultimate Subscription: this modality gives you access to NVIDIA’s Premium platform with a GeForce RTX 4080 graphics, has no advertisinggives you exclusive access to the RTX 4080 servers, allows you to have gaming sessions of up to 8 hours long and play games with 4K resolution and up to 240 FPS.
At this point you should know that, if you subscribe to the Ultimate subscription and want to play from a PC with Windows, it must meet a series of requirements. Thus, as detailed in the minimum requirements section present on the GeForce Now websiteto be able to enjoy your favorite games with GeForce Now, Your Windows computer must have the following hardware:
